Are you looking to renovate your kitchen? Here are some design ideas to incorporate in your kitchen cabinet design and if you are not updating your kitchen some of these ideas can still help maintain an organized kitchen.
Pull-Out Cabinets
Spices, dry goods and other cooking essentials can be stored in a pull- out “pantry”. You can achieve this in multiple ways. For custom cabinets you can ask your cabinet shop to incorporate a pull-out spice rack. This could be located near your range but if you want it hidden the cabinet shop could incorporate it in the island as a leg. This keeps items tucked away but still provides easy access.
Use your existing pull-out cabinets if you are wanting to achieve the same idea as above. If you just toss everything loosely into your cabinets, they will quickly fill up and feel cluttered. Break items up by type and put them into baskets and organizers.
Adding vertical separators in cabinets can help de-clutter a kitchen. Creating a cabinet complete with vertical slot separators can help store cutting boards and cooking sheets and help prevent the messy pile-up. It will also make it easier to just grab and go when you are cooking.
Organize by Activity
Organizing a kitchen by splitting it into zones based on activity makes it a lot easier to navigate a busy kitchen. For example, in a previous project the kitchen had a cabinet area dedicated to getting your morning started and even an area for your nightly cocktails. Having these zones can help minimize chaos in the morning when you are needing that cup of coffee.
